BIRTH OF OMICRON ALPHA SIGMA On

 

October 18 2008, during the thrilling 30th Anniversary Celebration of the Iota Chi Collegiate Chapter at Western Illinois, a group of passionate alumni brothers reignited their commitment to Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.

 

They envisioned establishing a vibrant chapter right in their community! After returning home, the enthusiasm spread like wildfire among several brothers who were eager to make this dream a reality in the south suburbs of Illinois, within the Great Lakes Region.

 

With the courage of the initial six brothers—Malcolm Mc, Jamie Freeman, Aubrey, Jeff Freeman, Kevin Booker, and Jamal Phillips—this dream began to take shape. Soon, seven more brothers from the Iota Chi Chapter joined the cause, uniting to launch an Alumni Chapter in their community, bringing the total to an inspiring 13 charter members! Their shared vision for Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. was powerful. Finally, on April 4 2009, the Omicron Alpha Sigma Chapter proudly chartered in Matteson, Illinois, and has since been a beacon of service in the community!
